On October 31, 1875, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was born in the Gujarati village of Nadiad among the Leuva Patel Patidar community. Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel is his full name; however, he is more commonly referred to as Sardar Patel. His mother, Ladbai had a spiritual bent, while Sardar Patel's father, Zaverbhai Patel, served in the Army of the Queen of Jhansi. Patel has always had a strong sense of bravery.
Sardar Patel finished his matriculation at 22 when everyone else completed their graduation, and because of this, everyone assumed he would be working in regular occupations. Following graduation, Sardar Patel continued his education, earning a degree in law before moving to England to practise law as a barrister. He practised law in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, after leaving for India.
As a member of the Indian National Congress, Vallabhbhai was elected Secretary for Gujarat in 1917. Following the flooding in Kaira in 1918, he protested the British practice of taxing the farmers. He tried to convince the British to give the farms' land back. He received the title of "Sardar" in recognition of his valiant efforts to reclaim the land and unite the local farmers.
A tax hike was another issue that Bardoli's farmers had to deal with in 1928. Farmers' land was taken when they were unable to pay the levy. After negotiating a deal between the government and the farmers' representatives, Vallabhbhai was able to give the land back to the farmers.
Patel was also a key figure in Mahatma Gandhi's non-cooperation movement. Gandhi and Patel travelled the nation together, enlisting 300,000 new members and amassing more than 1.5 million. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was imprisoned in 1930 due to his involvement in the well-known Salt Satyagraha movement, which Mahatma Gandhi started.
Additionally, he delivered an energising speech that profoundly affected the audience. When Mahatma Gandhi was imprisoned, he participated in every event to support the Satyagraha movement that expanded throughout Gujarat. After signing an agreement between Lord Irwin and Mahatma Gandhi, Patel was freed in 1931.
In 1950, Vallabhbhai Patel's health began to deteriorate. The doctor had informed him that he wouldn't live very long. His physical health started deteriorating after a few months, forcing him to be on bed rest. He suffered a heart attack on December 15th, 1950, and died the same day. His birthday, which falls on January 31st, was designated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day in 2014. In 1991, he received the Bharat Ratna Award posthumously.

Education and Career of Sardar Vallabhai Patel
In childhood, every one among his family and friends circle regards him as an unambitious child. But, he secretly has a dream of becoming a barrister. Furthermore, after completing his matric level education he furthered his dream and started studying the law.
Besides, he stays away from his family so that he can dedicate himself completely to his studies to fulfill his dream. After some time he completed his studies and become a lawyer and started practicing law.
But, he was not satisfied and want to climb the ladder of success. So, he plans to study further and travels to England to study law further and become a barrister. Moreover, things go as plan and his papers arrived. But, Patel’s elder brother also has a dream to study further in England and convinced him to let him go instead of him.
As both the brother have the same initials and his brother can use the same documents to travel and study in England. So, Patel let his brother travel to England in his place as he could not deny his request.
After that, he continued his practice and applied for the course again and finally get the chance to fulfill his dream at 36 years of age. Besides, it was a 36 months course but he completed it in just 30 months. After that, he returned to India as a barrister.
After his return, he settled in Ahmadabad and became the most successful barrister there. Besides, Patel wanted to earn good for his family as he wishes to provide top-class education to his children and he continually worked in this direction.
