A. Pengertian Simple Future Tense

Simple future tense merupakan tenses untuk menjelaskan suatu peristiwa yang belum mulai dan akan terjadi di masa yang akan datang. Kalimat pada simple future tense dapat ditandai dengan penggunaan kata will, shall, dan going to. Simple future tense juga digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu prediksi atau keinginan.

B. Rumus Simple Future Tense

E. Perbedaan Will, Shall, dan Going to

Secara garis besar, kata will, shall, dan going to memiliki arti yang sama, yaitu berarti “akan”. Namun, pada beberapa keadaan kata tersebut juga bisa berbeda arti berdasarkan konteksnya.

Menggunakan to be am/is/are setelah subjek, contoh: I am going to…, She is going to …

Menyatakan sebuah keinginan namun baru sebatas niat (intention)

I am going to your birthday party tonight (Saya (mungkin) akan datang ke pesta ulang tahunmu malam ini)

My mom is going to buy vegetables at supermarket (Ibu saya akan pergi ke supermarket untuk membeli sayuran)

Sebelum menjawab latihan soal, mari segarkan kembali ingatanmu lewat penjelasan singkat mengenai simple present tense .

Simple present tense adalah tenses yang berfungsi untuk menjelaskan fakta, kejadian, atau tindakan yang sedang berlangsung di masa sekarang atau berulang kali. Dalam tenses ini, kamu harus menggunakan kata kerja berupa infinitive verb atau kata kerja bentuk dasar yang menunjukkan aksi atau tindakan.

Jangan lupa juga untuk memperhatikan subjek dalam kalimat. Jika subjeknya berupa singular noun atau third person singular, maka V1 perlu ditambahkan -s/-es/-ies. Berikut adalah beberapa contoh: – He bring s a bag (brings = bring + -s) – She carr ies the package (carries = carry + -ies) Namun jika subjeknya berupa pronoun, plural noun, dan plural pronoun maka V1 tidak perlu ditambah -s/-es/-ies. Berikut adalah beberapa contoh: – I bring the bag (tidak ada -s dalam ‘bring’) – We carry the things (tidak ada -ies dalam ‘carry’)

When Jack woke up in the morning, he noticed the sun was shining into a pan in his room, but the rest of the room was quite dark and shady. So he hopped up to the window. What did he see? The beanstalk was growing quite close to Jack’s window. He opened the window and jumped to the beanstalk, which looked like a big ladder. He climbed and climbed until he reached the sky. While he was looking around, he saw a very big castle. He was pretty blown away.

Jack then walked along the path leading to the castle. There was a woman with a very long tail at the door. Jack greeted her and asked for the giantess's mercy to give him breakfast, because he was really hungry. Although the giantess was initially reluctant, she eventually gave Jack a slice of bread and cheese, along with a jug of milk. Jack hadn't even finished when the whole house started shaking with the sound of footsteps. "Oh, it's my husband!" the giantess exclaimed. "What on earth am I going to do?" The giantess quickly opened a very big cupboard and hid Jack inside.

On the way to her grandmother’s house, Little Red Riding Hood met the Big Bad Wolf.

“Where are you going little girl?” he asked with his biggest smile.

“To my grandmother’s house on the other side of the forest,” said Little Red Riding Hood who had forgotten what her mother told her The wolf took a shortcut and ran ahead to Grandmother’s house. When he got there, he went inside and swallowed Grandmother whole! Then he put on her cap and nightgown and climbed into her bed.

When Little Red Riding Hood got there, she walked right up to the bed.

“Grandmother! What big ears you have,” she said.

“All the better to hear you with my dear,” said the wolf.

“And what big eyes you have,” she said.

“All the better to see you with my dear,” said the wolf.

“And what big teeth you have,” said Little Red Riding Hood.

Future Perfect Tense: Pengertian, Rumus, dan Contoh Soal

Dalam bahasa Inggris, terdapat 16 bentuk tenses dan salah satunya adalah future perfect tense.

Bentuk tense ini dikenal cukup kompleks karena menggabungkan bentuk future (masa depan) dan perfect (telah selesai) dalam satu kalimat.

Future perfect biasa digunakan jika kita ingin mengungkapkan bahwa suatu kejadian akan telah berakhir di masa yang akan datang.

Tidak perlu bingung, simak penjelasan lebih lengkap mengenai future perfect berikut ini!

Pengertian Future Perfect Tense

Future perfect tense merupakan bentuk kata kerja yang menunjukkan bahwa suatu kejadian sudah selesai secara sempurna (perfect) pada suatu waktu tertentu di masa depan.

Karena menggabungkan dua bentuk yaitu future tense dan perfect tense , maka kalimat ini dibentuk dengan ‘will’ dan ‘have’ dan diikuti oleh kata kerja past participle.

Dalam kalimat, future perfect biasa menggunakan penanda waktu secara spesifik di masa depan.

Ekspresi waktu tersebut antara lain: before, when, at this time tomorrow, by next Sunday, by 10, by this time next week, etc.

Terdapat dua fungsi pokok dari bentuk future perfect, yaitu:

• Menyatakan bahwa sebuah kejadian akan telah selesai sebelum kejadian lain

The meeting will be held at 9 tomorrow. It will have ended before you come.

Kalimat tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pertemuan akan dimulai pada pukul 9. Ketika lawan bicara tiba, kemungkinkan pertemuan tersebut akan telah selesai.

• Menunjukkan bahwa di masa depan, suatu aksi akan sudah selesai

Contoh: They will have set the stage by this time next week.

Dari contoh tersebut, dijelaskan bahwa suatu aksi, yaitu penataan panggung akan telah selesai di masa depan.

Waktu dijelaskan secara spesifik yaitu pada waktu yang sama saat pembicaraan tersebut berlangsung, namun minggu depan.

Rumus Future Perfect Tense

Future perfect menggabungkan bentuk future (will) dan perfect (have). Dengan demikian, kalimat dapat dibentuk dengan menggabungkan will + have kemudian diikuti oleh past participle.

Meskipun subyek berbentuk singular, tetap harus menggunakan have karena mengikuti will. Simak rumus-rumus berikut ini.

Rumus Future Perfect Tense untuk Kalimat positif

Subject + will + have + verb-3

Contoh: My mother will have arrived tomorrow morning.

Rumus Future Perfect Tense untuk Kalimat negatif

Subject + will + not + have + verb-3

Contoh: She will not have bought a car next year because of financial problem.

Rumus Future Perfect Tense untuk Kalimat interogatif

Will + subject + have + verb-3

Contoh: Will they have returned the books tomorrow morning?

Untuk mendapatkan kata kerja bentuk ketiga (past participle), bentuk pertama (base form) harus ditambahkan –ed, -d, -en, -n, atau –t pada regular verbs.

Sedangkan untuk irregular verbs, bentuk kata kerja lebih bervariasi.

• You will have bought the concert ticket tomorrow morning. ( Kamu akan sudah membeli tiket konser besok pagi)
• She will have signed the contract by this time next week. ( Dia akan telah menandatangani kontrak minggu depan)
• I will have ridden a new bicycle by next Sunday. ( Saya akan sudah mengendarai sepeda baru Minggu depan)
• My mother will have cooked may favorite homemade recipe at this time next Saturday. ( Ibu saya akan telah memasak resep rumahan kesukaan saya besok Sabtu)
• The students will have collected the assignment before you ask them by next week. ( Para siswa akan telah mengumpulkan tugas sebelum kamu memintanya minggu depan)
• Jodie will have paid the debt when you come. ( Jodie akan telah membayar hutangnya saat kamu datang)
• By this time next month, I will have studied here for 5 years. ( Bulan depan, saya akan telah belajar  di sini selama 5 tahun)
• On the 23 rd  of January, it will have been a year since we got married. ( Pada tanggal 23 Januari akan menjadi satu tahun sejak kita menikah)
• She will not have returned tomorrow. ( Dia akan telah kembali besok)
• By 7PM, my father and I will not have finished our cleaning project. ( Pada pukul 7 malam, ayah dan saya belum akan menyelesaikan proyek bersih-bersih kami)
• I will not have written anything when you call me. ( Saya belum akan menulis apapun ketika kamu memanggil)
• Before he arrives, the party will have been started. ( Sebelum dia datang, pesta akan sudah dimulai)
• By this time tomorrow, I will have held a driving license. ( Besok, saya sudah akan mempunyai SIM baru)
• He will have worked for Mr. Khan for 10 years on July 1. ( Dia akan sudah bekerja pada Pak Khan selama 10 tahun pada tanggal 1 Juli)
• My favorite singer will have released his new album tomorrow. ( Penyanyi kesukaan saya akan telah mengeluarkan album baru besok)
