10. Ethical Guidelines for the Use of Human Participants in Research

AJER   requires all authors to evaluate whether there is any physical or psychological hazard during the conduct of a research which involves human participants, whether patients, volunteers, or healthy individuals. Such research studies may be classified as basic (experimental), clinical, and epidemiological research, prepared as a cohort study, case-control, or cross-sectional. Investigators are required to make a full disclosure about any such risk or hazard that the human participants may be exposed to.  It will be mandatory to obtain informed consent from all such human participants in order to safeguard the welfare and dignity of the participants. Failure to make full disclosure prior to obtaining informed consent might lead to a delay or rejection of the manuscript.   

We do not make any distinction regarding the nature of participation nor categorize participants based on the type of research. The research may be low risk or high risk, but “every” human participant, irrespective of his or her nature of participation, must give the consent of participations prior to the commencement of research. Hence, informed consent shall be required from all human participants and not with any specific type of research or category of participant.

The demographics should also include number, sex, age range and state of health of the human participants. By state of health, we mean that all participants must be in good physical and mental health, capable to take decisions throughout the tenure of the research. This information about participants’ health is required for all studies with human subjects Though payments to healthy volunteers participating in research are allowable, provided that such payment is to reimburse expenses or compensate for time and inconvenience, and is not at a level that would constitute an inducement for people to take part in studies. Such human research should be conducted only with the approval of the institutional ethical committee. The approval of the institutional ethical committee   shall be required for every research submission, irrespective of the participants’ role in the research or whether the participant is paid or not.

Asian Journal of Business Research (AJBR with ISSN of 2463-4522 and e-ISSN of 1178-8933) A scholarly and international journal that aims to disseminate new and challenging theories, paradigms, findings and managerial implications based on actual Asian business situations. Initiated by the Founding Editors, Prof Kim-Shyan Fam and Prof Zhilin Yang, the journal started its maiden volume and issue in 2011, and has since attracted papers not only from Asian countries but from all over the world. Journal Policy

AJBR is published by Asia Business Research Corporation Limited under the initiative of MAGScholar. AJBR publishes three times per year from 2019 onward (April, August, December). Abstracts and manuscripts must be written in English, and can be submitted via email throughout the year. There is no submission and publication fee for Regular Issue. Arrangement for special issue or conference support will only be considered if a full proposal is submitted to us. There is no specific format for the proposal but it must provide details pertaining to the reasons for choosing AJBR, aims and scope as well as topics, submission and review process, guest editors and their background, diversity of papers and authors, and how does it benefit AJBR. All manuscripts are subject to strict double-blind peer-review process by scholars of the same fields. Every corresponding author is required to submit the manuscript with a cover letter. Such letter must declare the originality of manuscript, authenticity of data, and non conflict of interest (see AJBR Publishing Ethics). The Editors will review each manuscript first and conduct a similarity check to decide if it is to be sent to the reviewers. The reviewing process will normally take no more than three months. Manuscript that fails to comply with any ethical issues and submission guidelines will be rejected. All published papers are archived on MAG Scholar‘s website and Google Scholar Citation to increase its visibility and citations. Updates about AJBR, including the latest published papers, are and will be posted on MAG Scholar’s Facebook page. Submission Guideline

All authors are expected to adhere closely to AJBR submission guidelines prior to submission. A manuscript should be between 7,000 and 8,500 words in length (including abstracts, tables and references), although manuscript exceeding 8500 words would also be considered. The set of journals have been ranked according to their SJR and divided into four equal groups, four quartiles. Q1 (green) comprises the quarter of the journals with the highest values, Q2 (yellow) the second highest values, Q3 (orange) the third highest values and Q4 (red) the lowest values.

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

Evolution of the number of published documents. All types of documents are considered, including citable and non citable documents.

This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal. The chart shows the evolution of the average number of times documents published in a journal in the past two, three and four years have been cited in the current year. The two years line is equivalent to journal impact factor ™ (Thomson Reuters) metric.

Evolution of the total number of citations and journal's self-citations received by a journal's published documents during the three previous years. Journal Self-citation is defined as the number of citation from a journal citing article to articles published by the same journal.

Evolution of the number of total citation per document and external citation per document (i.e. journal self-citations removed) received by a journal's published documents during the three previous years. External citations are calculated by subtracting the number of self-citations from the total number of citations received by the journal’s documents.

International Collaboration accounts for the articles that have been produced by researchers from several countries. The chart shows the ratio of a journal's documents signed by researchers from more than one country; that is including more than one country address.

Not every article in a journal is considered primary research and therefore "citable", this chart shows the ratio of a journal's articles including substantial research (research articles, conference papers and reviews) in three year windows vs. those documents other than research articles, reviews and conference papers.
